Manuel has never met an elitist, nor does he know what that word means. He doesn’t care about sniper fire or big oil or bowling a 37. He goes to a church on Sundays that speaks of Jesus, not of hate or this countries spiteful mistakes. When he clears a table or empties a trash can, he thinks of his children. Children that do not see race or gender, but only see friend or foe. Neither the IRS or DMV have a full understanding of Manuel and they don’t really need to. He wakes up before the sun and does work that no Facebook profile utters or college professor tutors. The way Manuel sees it, money is taken out of his paycheck so he is an American.
